Google Search Trends data as at 7 November 2020 shows that out of these three terms, ‘resume‘ is by far the most popular search term for Australians.
As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words:
Observations
- About those deep troughs in the chart: These occur at Christmas and New Year every year – when workers aren’t thinking about work.
- Troughs start near the end of November each year; at this point, job seekers turn their thoughts to holidays and Christmas – and employers ramp down recruitment efforts.
- Peaks: As you’d expect, peaks occur in January and February. People are back at work – this starts them thinking about new jobs!
Moral of the story?
If you’re looking for a new job, start right now because in about 2 weeks, most employers will start to wind up recruitment efforts for the year.
