Here are some ideas on how best to stand out in your application for any graduate program.

Applicants know very well they’re competing against hundreds – if not thousands – of other educated applicants.

Think about the specific area of the company you’re interested in. Read the company website. Adapt your application to the needs of the job and company.

Provide recruiters with insights about who you are, e.g. list work experience, hobbies, sport, volunteering, etc.

Specifically address things like your experience and achievements in the following areas:

  • Teamwork
  • Communication
  • Interpersonal abilities

Worry less about how your resume looks.

Focus on having something to say. Read between the lines in the advertisement for the graduate program.
